Drugs and alcohol

Getting pressure from your friends to get involved in drugs or alcohol?

It is easy to be influenced by our friends or other people we respect, but if they're pressuring you into doing something you know is wrong, it's up to you to say no.

If you're worried you're being bullied into it read through our dedicated section. Either 'get the facts' about bullying or take a look at 'Are you being bullied?'.

What should you do?

The first thing to do is learn more about drugs and alcohol so that you understand why 'no' is the right answer. Visit our 'Get the facts' page, or take a look at the Talk to Frank website which has lots of useful information about all types of drugs.

You should also talk to someone you can trust:

  • talk to your parents or another responsible adult
  • talk to a teacher at school
  • talk to your Safer Schools Officer or local Safer Neighbourhoods Team
  • speak to a professional in confidence by calling ChildLine on 0800 1111

And remember, if you haven't done it yet, you can't get into trouble.
